Two Types of Warranty: Manufacturer and Installer
When buying an AC, you get two warranties. The manufacturer warranty (Midea, Gree, etc.) covers factory defects: compressor failure, control board issues, leaks from factory connections. Typically 3–5 years on compressor, 2 years on other components. The installer warranty covers installation quality: line integrity, electrical connection, drainage.
What the Manufacturer Warranty Covers
Factory defects in compressor, electronic boards, temperature sensors, fan motors. Not covered: mechanical damage, voltage surge consequences (without a stabilizer), damage from improper installation, natural wear of consumables (filters, seals).
What the Installation Warranty Covers
Flare connection quality (refrigerant leak due to installer error), electrical connection correctness, drainage system function, unit mounting reliability. Vent Service installation warranty: 2 years. Condition: commissioning performed by our specialists.
What Voids the Warranty
Self-installation or work by an unqualified technician is the main reason for warranty denial. Warranty is also voided by: opening the indoor unit by unauthorized persons, using non-original refrigerant, operating outside voltage range (180–240V), lack of regular maintenance (for extended warranty).
How to Keep Your Warranty: Checklist
1. Install through an authorized dealer. 2. Keep all documents: receipt, warranty card, commissioning certificate. 3. Schedule maintenance at least once a year with a licensed service company. 4. Don't open the indoor unit yourself (except mesh filter rinsing). 5. Install a voltage stabilizer if your area has power surges.
Post-Warranty Service
After warranty expires, an AC continues working 7–12 more years with regular maintenance. Post-warranty repair costs depend on the component: control board replacement, refrigerant top-up, or compressor replacement — all standard operations for a certified technician. Early diagnostics saves money.
